Mac OS X will remember this exception for this particular application.
But as default security settings of GateKeeper has not been altered, you will have to perform the same steps again if you get this issue for another application with unidentified developer. For doing this you have to alter security settings in your Mac OS X, which is not a good idea as it will make your Mac less secure. For permanent fix for all applications from unidentified developer follow the steps below:.
Click the lock to make changes and enter your account password to verify.
Now set the radio button to Anywhere followed by Allow from Anywhere. Its not really a fix since its intended behaviour. I keep the option enabled and when message pops up I go to settings and allow specific app to open. For the latter, I presume you mean with Apache. I have not found any log in or other info in my files about an OO or Apache user profile. I am just an end user of OO, not a developer.
If I need to reset something, I guess I need help. Thanks for the suggestions. OpenOffice 4.
No to both. It would not come up.
Outlook for Mac won't open
I then restarted my computer, and tried to use OO. OO would not come up. Multiple tries, from various locations.
All I got was the "OO quit unexpectedly" box. I reinstalled OO from the disc image that I am keeping on my desktop. As usual, OO installed successfully and started. I loaded several documents successfully.
MS Word for mac often won't open docs or won't open at - Microsoft Community
Then I quit OO. As usual, I could not reopen it. Again, multiple tries from various locations.
- Apple Footer.
- wine for mac os x yosemite.
- bike race game for mac;
So, problem remains unchanged. I reset my user profile, using the procedure described on the link that you gave me. To do this, I had to again reinstall OO, because the installed version would not start and give me a new user profile. But when I reinstalled, I was able to create a new profile by starting the newly installed version obtained again from the disc on my desktop.
When I quit OO, with the new profile in place, I was unable to reopen. Exactly the same problem as for all my other tries. Problem remains unchanged. The newly installed versions all start once, but never again. As to the steps. This gave me www. This downloaded the DMG to my desktop from pilotfiber. Before doing the installation, I renamed the version of OO already in my applications folder to Open Office. From that point I went through the standard Apple installation by opening the DMG and dragging the OO program to the image of my Applications folder in the install box.
When this was complete, I simply double clicked the new version of OO to verify and install it. Then I put the old version in the trash. I have now done these same steps multiple times, including downloading from Apache more than once. I really appreciate all the help you are offering me. What next? Any ideas? Thanks again. I was not able to attach them here. Thanks, Dale Compton.
All of a sudden, Outlook won't open. It bounces in the dock, the logo appears for a half a second and then poof, it's gone. It won't open at all. I've restarted my computer twice. All other Office applications work. Help please. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question
