Microsoft word mac standard toolbar missing

Apr 9, May 10, 7: May 10, Instead of expanding the window, I am able to get the toolbar back following these instructions then switching to another word doc, and coming back to the first. Further down this thread are instructions to replace the plist for Word. I'm going to try that because even this work around is annoying. Closed all applications. Restarted computer.

Opened Word. Workaround works, but how annoying. MS Word for Mac toolbar missing and cannot get back. Sometimes just pops up for no reason.

Finding a Lost Menu Bar (Microsoft Word)

To get the toolbar to display you have to go through a "ritual" every time you open a file for the first time: Applications Speciality level out of ten: I have Office with Lion. If it doesn't work, restore the original. Lexiepex Lexiepex. Mac OS X Speciality level out of ten: I quit all Microsoft Office for Mac programs, including Word.

Minimize or expand the ribbon

I opened a Finder window. I located the file and moved it to the desktop. Then when I restarted Word, the toolbars that I couldn't access reappeared. Hope that works for you, too.
